Simone Sherise Battle (June 17, 1989-September 5, 2014) was an American singer and actress from Los Angeles, California who first became known when she made the top 17 on season 1 of The X Factor. In the first live show, she performed "Just Be Good to Me"[7] and was one of two acts eliminated by decision of her mentor Simon Cowell, the other being Tiah Tolliver. The same night, her debut music video "He Likes Boys" premiered online. Battle was a member of the girl group G.R.L., which was formed by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin

Post X Factor
After her time on the show, Battle released the music video for her first post-X Factor single, "He Likes Boys". In 2012, she became a part of the new Pussycat Dolls line-up after their past members disbanded. In February 2013, Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin announced the group would continue as the "next generation" of the Dolls with their name being G.R.L. The group released their self-tited EP on July 29, 2014. One of the singles from the EP, "Ugly Heart", peaked at number 2 Australian charts and number 3 on the New Zealand charts.
Death
On September 5, 2014, Battle was found dead in her home in Los Angeles. The cause of death was ruled a suicide.
